-Benefits of studying at this College

North Regional TAFE is the largest provider of training and vocational services in the north of Western Australia. We service industries and communities across a region exceeding one million square kilometres.

NRT delivers more than 200 nationally recognised and industry endorsed qualifications in over 25 different industry areas, focussing on the vital practical and theoretical skills employers seek. Our lecturers work closely with industry to ensure students receive the most up-to-date and industry relevant training.

We understand that everybody's needs are different, and offer a high level of customisation and flexible training options to suit individual, community and workplace requirements. Speak to us today about how we can meet your training needs.

 -Skills Recognition

Did you know you can receive a qualification without undergoing formal training? Skills Recognition is a process that allows you to seek and gain recognition for your skills, no matter where or how these were acquired. It could be through work experience, education, training or life experience.

When you apply for Skills Recognition, the knowledge you already have is compared with the requirements of the units in the course. Skills Recognition can give you many benefits and opportunities. If you can demonstrate that you have already achieved the outcomes of the unit in a qualification, you can be given recognition for that and you may not need to attend classes.

Skills Recognition processes include:
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
• Recognition of current competencies
• Credit transfer
• RPL for entry
• Overseas equivalence
• Subject exemptions

For more information on the Skill Recognition process, speak to NRT.

 -Numeracy and Literacy Support
Literacy and numeracy support is available to assist students through their qualifications. North Regional TAFE lecturers work with students to ensure they develop specific skills required to complete their courses, such as reading, writing, computing and organisational skills. Speak to NRT about the support available.
